(KAIR)--An Atchison teen was arrested Friday on burglary related charges following an investigation by the Atchison Police Department.
Police Chief Mike Wilson says the investigation was initiated on January 14th, after the burglary to the residence, located in the 500 block of North Seventh Street was reported. Forced entry was made into the home and items including various electronic equipment and financial cards were removed. The total value of the items taken is estimated to be approximately $4,100.
Wilson says that investigators were able to develop a number of leads in the case, which lead to the arrest of the 16-year-old suspect.
The teen who is not being named at this time, was booked into a juvenile detention center on charges including theft and burglary.
Wilson adds that further arrests can be expected in the case as the investigation continues.
