(KNZA)--Hiawatha USD 415 Superintendent Dr. Penny Hargrove is among five finalists to be the next superintendent of Auburn-Washburn USD 437.
According to the school district’s website, Hargrove interviewed for the position Thursday. She is currently in her third year as superintendent of USD 415.
The four other finalists interviewed this week included Rock Creek USD 323 Superintendent Dr. Darrel Stufflebeam, Garden City USD 457 Assistant Superintendent Dr. Darren Dennis, Moundridge USD 423 Superintendent Chad Higgins, and Blue Valley USD 229 Executive Director of Human Resources Dr. Scott McWilliams.
The Auburn-Washburn Board of Education expects to announce its new superintendent of schools sometime between January 20-February 2, depending on contract negotiations.
The person selected would replace Brenda Dietrich who is retiring June 30 after 14 years with the district.
