Benedictine Tobacco Ban Begins
01/14/2015

(KAIR)--Benedictine College has enacted the first phase of a campus wide tobacco ban, that will come into full effect this summer.

The first part of the ban started January 1st, and limits all tobacco use on campus to seven designated areas. This is a small change from the original plan, which called for just three areas. These tobacco zones are spread across campus, but none are along the corridor running through campus.

The final phase of the new tobacco policy will begin on July 1st, and tobacco use by anyone, for any reason on campus will not be allowed.

The ban, which includes chewing tobacco and e cigarettes, was first announced in an e mail sent to students and faculty in October.
