(KNZA)--An additional candidate has filed for one of four open positions this April on the Hiawatha USD 415 Board of Education.
Tom Simmer filed Tuesday for position 2 on the board, which is currently held by Matt Sprick. Sprick has announced he doesn't plan to seek re-election.
Ian Schuetz previously filed to retain his seat on the board. Also up for election are the positions currently held by Dave Thompson and Steve Lock, who both don't plan to seek re-election.
Candidates have until noon on Tuesday, January 27th to file at the Brown County Clerk's office.
The general election is April 7th.
