(KNZA)--A new administrator is hired for the Hiawatha Chamber of Commerce.
He is Hiawatha resident Eric Thompson, longtime member of the Kansas National Guard, who brings with him years of leadership experience.
Thompson was one of three candidates interviewed for the position, with his final interview held on Monday.
Chamber Board President Carrie Potter says Thompson was offered the position, which he accepted, the following day. “I am thrilled,” Potter tells MSC News. “His organizational skills and implementation of projects seem exceptional. He has already put a lot of thought into how he can improve the Chamber of Commerce and its service to our business members. He is eager to face the challenges that lie ahead in his new position.”
Thompson will be formally introduced to the community during the Chamber's annual meeting, and awards ceremony, planned for the evening of January 29th.
His duties officially begin in February.
