(KAIR)--The Atchison Police Department is investigating a robbery that took place at a local convenience store Tuesday evening.
According to Police Chief Mike Wilson, the robbery occured just before 8:40 when two suspects entered the King's Super Store, located in the 900 block of Division Street and allegedly knocked the 41-year-old clerk to the floor, pushed the cash register off the counter and grabbed an unknown amount of cash before leaving the building.
After leaving the scene, it is believed that the suspects ran north across Division Street, then headed east.
Both suspects were wearing dark clothing and had sweatshirt hoods covering their face. Wilson says this makes it difficult to get a detailed description, but officials are looking for more details to help make an identification.
The clerk suffered minor bruising from the incident, and did not require transportation to the hospital.
Anyone with information regarding this case is urged to contact the Atchison Police Department at 913-367-4323.
