(KAIR)--An Atchison man, wanted on an Atchison County District Court warrant for several burglary related charges, was arrested Monday after turning himself into police.
Police Chief Mike Wilson says officials started an investigation in early December into the alleged incident, which took place at a rental property located in the 600 block of North Second Street. The property was undergoing some construction, and several saws were allegedly taken from the site. The investigation lead to not only to the recovery of those saws, but also lead police to the names of two suspects, including 21-year-old Brett Betts.
Betts was booked into the Atchison County Jail on charges including burglary, theft, conspiracy to commit burglary, and criminal damage to property.
Wilson says they are currently attempting to locate the second suspect connected to the case.
