(KAIR)--An Atchison woman was arrested Monday afternoon after allegedly threatening a family member with a knife.
According to Police Chief Mike Wilson, officers were called to a residence located in the 700 block of Spruce Street just before 2:15 for a report of a disturbance. Upon arrival, they discovered a 16-year-old male outside of the home. The juvenile reported that he was allegedly threatened with a large kitchen knife by 20-year-old Janice Jimenez-Saavedra during a disturbance earlier that day.
Police located Jimenez-Saavedra inside the home. She was taken into custody, and booked into the Atchison County Jail on a charge of aggravated assault.
