(KLZA)-- The Pawnee City Council approved the purchase of a 2015, three-quarter ton pickup from Honeyman Ford in Seneca, Kansas Monday night. The cost will be $22,591. The Honeyman bid was one of 15 bids received.
Three bids were submitted to lease the 177 acres of farm and pasture land at the well site. Todd Albers submitted the highest bid of $93.25 per acre, amounting to $16,505.25. John Zimmers submitted a bid of $90 per acre and Gary Kuhl submitted a bid of $72 per acre. The bid was awarded to Albers.
The Council learned the water tower project has been completed by Elite National Tank and Tower. The company sandblasted and painted the inside of the tank at a cost of $14,100. It was also reported that the boring part of the water line re-location project has been completed. The line will lead to the City Pond. More pipe will need to be purchased. The project must be completed by March.
