( Nebraska Radio Network)-- Many will spend the holiday in a care facility this year. With limited space it is often a difficult task to decide what to give a friend or relative receiving care. Senior living expert Tammy Roberts says most care facility residents still enjoy playing the role of host when visitors come to call and like to have something to offer or something to share with other residents. She says a good idea is to enroll them in a monthly delivery club so they receive a fruit or candy basket throughout the year.
Roberts says other ideas include a gift certificate to the care facilities beauty or barber shop. She says the best gift you can give is your time by taking the resident out for dinner or a drive to see the holiday lights.
