(KLZA)-- Holt County Commissioners voted unanimously during their monthle meeting to adopt a resolution to designate blight as it relates to an Enhanced Enterprise Zone for Holt County.
An amended and restated joint recreational system agreement related to the Southern Holt Public Recreation System was also approved. This agreement replaces the previous agreement in effect since March of 1993.
Under the new agreement Holt County will appoint three at-large members. Appointed for a one year term on the board is Daysha Weller, Elizabeth Dudeck was appointed for three years and Wes Killin for five years.
The City of Forest City and City of Oregon will each appoint two board members as part of the agreement to create a seven-member board. The primary responsibility is the pool.
A change order was approved for construction on Holt County Levee District #15. This will allow HB Construction to mobilize and complete work on the levee system before January 15, 2015. Work had been delayed while waiting on FEMA approval.
Brenda Nelson, Health Department Administrator provided an update on matters in her department including Medicare reimbursement. She also presented cost estimates associated with the installation of awnings at the Health Department. The estimate is $1,500.
Bids were opened and reviewed for corrugated metal pipe and lumber for the Road and Bridge needs for 2015. Rock bids for 2015 were also opened and all were accepted.
Commissioners also approved an agreement to partner with Levee District #7 for the replacement of a drainage tube on Holt County Road 360. The district will replace the tube with a 48-inch pipe, approximately 40 feet in length. The District will do the work and the County will pay for half of the pipe.
