(KLZA)-- Two people were injured and three vehicles damaged in a crash in the southbound lane of Interstate 29 in Holt County, Missouri, Sunday morning about 10:50 a-m.
A 2008 Dodge Charger driven by 21-year-old Butros Lawrence of Omaha overtook two vehicles. The Butros car was passing a Nissan Versa driven by 21-year-old Victoria Hubbard of Lee’s Summit and a Dodge Stratus driven by 78-year-old Gerald Johnson of Mound City. The Butros vehicle struck both vehicles causing the Hubbard vehicle to travel off the west side of the roadway and overturn coming to rest on the west side of the roadway. The Johnson car came to rest on the shoulder of I-29. The Butros vehicle overturned on the roadway, coming to rest partially in the passing lane of Interstate 29.
Delbert Brickey a passenger in the Johnson car was transported to the Fairfax Community Hospital with minor injuries. Victoria Hubbard was transferred to Mosiac Life Care in St. Joseph with serious injuries.
Butros and Gerald Johnson were not injured in the wreck. According to the Missouri Highway Patrol report all involved were wearing safety devices.
The Missouri Highway Patrol, Holt County Sheriff’s Office, Andrew County Sheriff’s Department, Oregon Police Department, Atchison-Holt Ambulance District and Holt County First Responders all responded to the scene.
