(KNZA)--The Kansas Department of Transportation has approved bids for several area projects.
Hamm Inc., of Perry, was awarded the contract for a nearly 17 mile overlay project on portions of K-62 and K-79 in Jackson and Nemaha Counties for a cost of more than $1.9 million. On K-62, the work will take place from the K-16 junction in Jackson County to the K-9 junction in Nemaha County. K-79 will be overlaid from the K-16 junction in Jackson County to the south city limits of Circleville.
Bids were also approved for two area bridge replacement projects.
In Jefferson County, Wichita-based Wildcat Construction Company was awarded the bid for the replacement of a bridge over Crooked Creek about 9 miles north of the K-92 junction for a cost of $957,000. And in Marshall County, L & M Contractors, of Great Bend, was awarded the contract to replace a bridge over Swede Creek just north of the Riley County line for a cost of nearly 2 million dollars.
The start date for the project's hasn't been announced.
Bid letting took place November 19th in Topeka.
