(KAIR)--An Atchison man, accused of taking a bag full of a large amount of money from a vehicle earlier this year, has been found guilty of felony theft.
A jury handed down the verdict against 20-year-old Luke Crawford Tuesday in Atchison County District Court following a short deliberation.
Sentencing has been set for January 16th.
Crawford was arrested in early July on an Atchison County warrant after the Atchison Police Department conducted an investigation into the theft that took place in June. The victim, 56-year-old Michael Scott, reported that he had parked his vehicle in front of a residence located in the 1300 block of M Street. Crawford, who was at the residence, removed a bag containing over $4,000 from the vehicle.
