(KLZA)--A bridge collapse has claimed the life of northwest Missouri man.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol 45-year-old Cory Ingram died from injuries received when a wooden, one-lane bridge collapsed on a Holt County road about two miles north of Mound City Friday afternoon.
The Patrol says Ingram was southbound on Memphis Road in a 2011 John Deere tractor when the bridge collasped shortly after 3:30, causing his tractor to overturn off the east side of the bridge and land in a creek. He was ejected from his tractor and landed underneath the vehicle.
Ingram was transported by helicopter to Mosaic Life Care in St. Joseph, where he dead early Saturday morning.
The Patrol was assisted by the Holt County Sheriff's Department, Mound City, South Holt and Maitland fire departments and Atchison-Holt Ambulance Service.
