(KNZA)--The jury trial for a Topeka man charged in a Holton attempted murder and rape case has been rescheduled.
During a hearing Friday, Jackson County Attorney Shawna Miller says the trial for Filip Rosario was set for March 30th-April 3rd.
Miller says a defense motion for a change of venue was continued because a venue study isn’t complete yet. She said a hearing on the motion will be rescheduled once the study is complete and a report is generated.
A trial in the case had originally been set for September of this year, but was continued at the request of the defense to allow a venue study to be conducted.
Rosario is charged with eight felony counts—including attempted capital murder.
Authorities say the crimes occurred on December 19th and 20th of last year. The victim was treated at a Topeka hospital for injuries and released.
Rosario remains in the Jackson County Jail, held on $300,000 bond.
