(KNZA)--A successful voter registration drive is spearheaded by the Prairie Band Potawatomi Reservation, near Mayetta.
According to a press release, volunteers organized, and went door-to-door, with the “Get Out the Native Vote” campaign resulting in 114 new registered voters.
Organizers believe the effort will impact the outcomes of the November 4th election.
Ten volunteers decided to organize the campaign after learning that Native Americans are one of the most unregistered groups of voters in the nation.
The effort was assisted through the help of the National Congress of American Indians.
