(KAIR)--Three individuals, who attempted to remove the chemical anhydrous ammonia from a storage tank in southern Muscotah have been sentenced to probation in the case.
37-year-old Jennifer Buskirk of Holton was sentenced first, appearing in Atchison County District Court Friday morning.
Buskirk had earlier pleaded guilty to one count of interference with a law enforcement officer and one count of criminal trespass. Judge Martin Asher handed down a six month suspended sentence on each count, and ordered her to serve twelve months of supervised probation.
29-year-old Michael Johnson, and 22-year-old Paige Borchert, both of Manhattan, appeared in Atchison County District Court Monday afternoon for their sentencing.
Johnson was given a seventeen month prison sentence for one count of attempting to possess anhydrous ammonia in an unapproved container, and a six month prison sentence on one count of interference with a law enforcement officer. Judge Asher suspended both sentences, and placed Johnson on twelve months of supervised probation.
Borchert was given a sentence identical to Buskirk,
