(KAIR)--The Atchison County Sheriff's Department is investigating the theft of a gold ring worth nearly $2,500 from a Lancaster residence.
According to Undersheriff Joe Butner, the ring's owner, 47-year-old David Spane reported that it had been taken from a bedroom in the home, located in the 200 block of South Broadway Street, sometime between October 10th and October 17th.
Butner says that members of a work crew, who were conducting construction work in the home at that time, are suspects in the case. Their employer, Labor Pros out of Topeka told investigators they have not been able to contact the suspects since the alleged theft took place.
Authorities are continuing to investigate.
