(KMZA)--The Nemaha County, Kansas Sheriff's Office has added a new tool in the effort to keep the public safe and informed.
In a press release, the office announces that it has partnered with the Nixle Community Information Service which allows information to be sent by cell phone text, email, or both, to those residents who sign up.
Messages may include notices of severe weather, public safety information, County Courthouse closings, property tax deadlines and other safety and community-based notifications.
Residents of Nemaha County, or neighboring communities, can sign-up and immediately begin receiving the alerts by registering at www.nixle.com.
