(KAIR)--Spooky family friendly fun will fill Effingham's City Park Saturday, as the third annual “Boo In the Park” library fundraiser is held. “We only have a certain amount of money budgeted for certain things in a year,” Effingham Library Director Amy Stanton tells MSC News. “One of the things I would like to get with this money is, number one, a sound system to [use when we] show movies at the library. Any funds left after that go towards summer reading.”
Stanton says the event will begin at 8:00 Saturday morning when the craft fair, featuring vendors from across the region, gets underway. Bounce houses, Fear Factor Teen Edition, a Lions Club sponsored car show, and hamburgers and hot dogs for lunch, will all be featured. A chili dinner will also be served starting at 5:00.
Stanton says the event will wrap up in the evening, with the local performance troupe, Lithium and Inglewarp, providing a fire-eater grand finale at 7:30. “They're out of Atchison and this is the second year that we've had them. I'm just amazed at the things that they can do with fire. It's just really fun.”
Stanton welcomes everyone to attend “Boo In the Park” on Saturday, with other planned activities, including pumpkin carving, hayrack rides, and face painting, expected to make for a frightfully fun family good time.
