(KNZA)--A longtime Hiawatha physican has died.
Dr. Delbert Larson died Wednesday evening at the Hiawatha Community Hospital at the age of 84.
Dr. Larson practiced as a family physician for more than 30 years in Hiawatha.
He also served as a flight surgeon in the Air Force Reserves and was activated to full service during Desert Storm. Del volunteered with Heart to Heart International, going to Turkey twice and to Haiti to help those communities after devastating earthquakes.
A celebration of life service will be held Monday afternoon at 1:30 at the First United Methodist Church in Hiawatha. You can find his full obituary posted elsewhere on this Web site.
Dr. Larson is survived by his wife, Nancy, along with 4 children.
