(KNZA)--A two-vehicle wreck near Perry-Lecompton High School Thursday morning claimed the life of a Valley Falls motorcyclist.
The Kansas Highway Patrol says killed in the wreck shortly before 10:45 was 49-year-old Kurt Lucas.
The Patrol says 49-year-old Lecompton resident Darin Christman was northbound in the 400 block of Lecompton Road in a Nissen Frontier pickup when he tried to make a left hand turn, and failed to yield to Lucas’ southbound Harley Davidson motorcycle.
The Patrol says Lucas tried to avoid the collision, but struck the pickup in the passenger fender.
Lucas wasn't a helmet. Christman was not hurt.
