(KNZA)--It will be awhile longer before it's determined if a Mayetta teen facing child sex charges is tried as an adult.
A hearing on a motion filed by Jackson County Attorney Shawna Miller to try 16-year-old Weston Hasty as an adult was postponed Wednesday in Jackson County courtroom to October 17th. Miller said the hearing was continued because a defense witness was unavailable.
Hasty is charged with three counts of aggravated indecent liberties with a child.
Miller says the alleged incidents, involving a three-year-old, occurred in June at a child care facility in Mayetta operated by Hasty’s mother.
