(KAIR)--As Kair radio celebrates seventy five years on air, we pause to take a look back on some of the people and events that have helped make us a part of the Atchison community for over seven decades. Each week, we will focus on a story that helps us remember a bit of our history.
Benedictine College has become a large part of the Atchison community, but not many people know that it has not always been just one school. In the early 1970s, school officials from St. Benedict's College and Mount St. Scholastica decided to merge their schools into one complete organization. Father Gerard Senecal was the first permanent President of the newly merged college, and he remembers that the merge, while difficult at first, eventually led to a college that is currently one of the leading Catholic college's in the state.

Each weekly segment will be posted online every Friday evening through September 12th.
