(KNZA)--A fatal crash on K-16 Highway in Leavenworth County Monday evening involving four vehicles left two dead.
The Kansas Highway Patrol says killed in the wreck were 46-year-old Oskaloosa resident Bart Kissinger and 39-year-old Brandon McKinsey, of Tonganoxie.
The Patrol says Kissinger was westbound when his pickup crossed the center line and struck a trailer being pulled by an eastbound pickup. Kissinger then continued on, striking an eastbound Chevy Suburban being driven by McKinsey. Debris from the impact then struck a fourth vehicle.
Kissinger and McKinsey were the lone occupants in their vehicles. No other injuries were reported.
The wreck was reported shortly after 7 west of 235th Street in Tonganoxie, and closed a stretch of K-16 Highway for nearly 5 hours.
