(KNZA)--Like other rural post offices, the one in the Jackson County community of Soldier will see a reduction in the hours of operation.
The Soldier Post Office is the latest around the region to be spared a total closure by the United States Postal Service.
It's expected, according to the Onaga Herald, that Monday through Friday office hours will be reduced by four hours, with the site to operate from 8:00 until 12 noon weekdays. The operating hours of 7:15 to 9:15 on Saturdays are not expected to change.
The new hours are expected to take effect in January.
The change was revealed during a community meeting held earlier this month.
