(KAIR)--A new President and CEO is slected for Atchison based MGP Ingredients.
MGP's Board of Directors announced the selection of beverage alcohol industry executive Gus Griffin Thursday. Griffin will formally assume the position July 28th.
Spokesman for MGP, Steve Pickman says that everyone in the company is “excited and eager to welcome Gus to his new, very vital leadership role at the company. My impression of him is that he is very qualified, very knowledgeable, has a wonderful demeanor, and is very community minded. Which should be great assets not only for the company, but for the community as well”.
MGP Board Chairman Cloud Cray says that the Board is completely confident in Griffin's abilities to bring the company into the future, and that his expertise in the business will greatly benefit MGP's distilled spirits business as well as their ingredients business segment.
Griffin brings extensive experience in the industry to MGP. He spent twenty four years with Brown-Forman, a leading global wine and spirit company, and most recently spent a year as Executive Vice President of Marketing for Next Level Spirits.
Griffin's selection ends an extensive nationwide search to fill the position, which had been held by Randy Schrick and Don Tracy on an interim basis since December of last year.
