(KAIR)--The Amelia Earhart Festival is just getting started, but plans are already in place to end the event with a fireworks display on the banks of the Missouri river.
Steller Fireworks Inc. will again be providing the display that traditionally ends the festival. Paul Austin will be coordinating the show, and he describes it as a combination of the sights and the sounds of both the music and the fireworks, combined with the expression of the fireworks.
Austin adds that those planning to watch the show somewhere other than the River Road, should make sure they can hear the music very well, as it is a vital part of the presentation. He says that if you miss the music and only see the display, you are missing about ninety percent of the show. The same is true if you hear the music, but miss the display.
The “Concert in the Sky” fireworks show will start soon after sunset when it gets completely dark.
KAIR radio will be simulcasting the event's music. So if you can't make it to the riverfront, as long as you can see the display, you can hear the music through any radio tuned to Hot County 93.7.
Music will be played along the riverfront for one hour following the show to wind down the event.
