(KAIR)--A Benedictine student has been chosen to sing the National Anthem before a Kansas City Royals game.
Katie Lind, a senior at the school will sing the anthem on July 10th, prior to the Royals taking on the Detroit Tigers at Kauffman stadium.
Lind is not majoring in music, but rather in history and education. She is known for her beautiful voice and sings at many college events. She has performed the National Anthem before Benedictine baseball and football games over the last several years.
Dayton Moore, the General Manager for the Royals, heard her sing when he was on campus this spring talking to a leadership class. He put her in touch with the organization that deals with the pregame program and she was immediately accepted based on her audition CD.
The game will start at 7:10PM, and all Ravens in attendance are asked to wear red Raven gear to support Lind.
