(KAIR)--Emergency personnel quickly responded to a report of a woman who had jumped into the Missouri River from a location just north of the railroad bridge in Atchison late Tuesday afternoon.
According to Police Chief Mike Wilson, officials rescued a 42-year-old woman from the river shortly before 5:30. Wilson says the woman was physically fine, but was being transported by Atchison County EMS to the Atchison Hospital as a precaution.
The woman’s name and reason for jumping into the river is unavailable at this time.
