(KLZA)-- Mixed news for Southeast Nebraska counties regarding May unemployment rates.
Johnson County had an increase in unemployment to 3.8 percent which is up 7-tenths of a point from April.
Nemaha County continues to have the highest unemployment rate in the area at 4.5 percent that was up from 4.4 percent the previous month. Richardson County remained steady at 3.9 percent. In Pawnee County the jobless rate increased 3-tenths to 2.7 percent, Otoe County was down slightly to 3.5 percent and in Gage County the unemployment rate was 3.5 percent.
Unemployment in all the area counties is lower than May of 2013.
Statewide the May jobless rate was 3.6 percent. Nationwide for May the unemployment rate is 6.3 percent.
