(KMZA)--A bridge replacement project is set to begin on K-99 Highway in Marshall County over the Snipe Creek about 5 miles north of the K-9 junction.
Beginning Monday, June 16 crews will begin by setting traffic control for the project, including the marked detour route signage. Then sometime later in the day, both northbound and southbound K-99 over the bridge will be CLOSED to all through traffic for the duration of the project.
A marked detour route will be provided. Northbound K-99 traffic will detour via eastbound K-9 to northbound K-87 to westbound U.S. 36 back to K-99. Southbound K-99 traffic will detour via eastbound U.S. 36 to southbound K-87 to westbound K-9 back to K-99.
Work will take place during daylight hours, Monday through Friday, with some occasional Saturday work.
Traffic will be directed through the project work zone via signage, cones and barriers. Drivers should allow extra time for their daily commutes and must use alternate routes throughout the project duration.
Wamego-based Ebert Construction Company is the primary contractor on the more than $1.1 million project. The project is scheduled for completion in late November, weather allowing.
