(KNZA)--Two open positions at Horton High School have been filled for next school year.
Following an executive session Monday evening, the USD 430 Board of Education voted to hire Gary Sorensen as the new counselor and Angela Bush as the new English teacher.
Sorensen will replace Jerry Burks, who retired. He comes to Horton after serving as a high school counselor for Royal Valley USD 337.
Bush will replace Jeff Folger who has taken a job with another school district. She will also serve as forensics sponsor.
In other business, Superintendent Steve Davies reported summer school for Everest Middle School and Horton High School students started on June 2nd at the high school and will run through the end of the month.There are ten middle school students and one high school student enrolled
