(KNZA)--A special gift for the Holton instructor recognized with the 2013 Outstanding Teacher Award from the National Association of Agricultural Educators.
Holton High School agriculture teacher Jason Larison on Sunday was presented the keys to a 2014 Toyota Tundra during the FFA Banquet held at Holton High School.
Larison, one of only six educators nationwide to receive the award, was recognized by Toyota for his accomplishment by gifting him the truck.
The automaker, over the past seven years, has awarded more than 84 agriculture teachers throughout the nation with a truck, part of the company's sponsorship of the Agriculture Educators award.
Larison, who has taught at Holton High School for 19-years, says the award means recognition of the school's agricultural program, the students and their work.
Larison's hands-on teaching style has focused on community service projects, agriculture on the job training and Supervised Agricultural Experience programs.
The real life outcome of his teaching has resulted in a student-hosted community blood drive and student-assistance in the construction of a local park.
