(KAIR)--An Atchison man who was found allegedly trespassing on railroad property was arrested on a district court warrant.
According to Atchison Police Chief Mike Wilson, an officer spotted 41-year-old Randy Powell on railroad property located in the 2100 block of U.S. 59 highway shortly after noon on Saturday. When Powell was confronted by the officer, he provided a false name in an attempt to avoid arrest.
Upon investigation, it was determined that Powell had a district court warrant issued for his arrest in September of 2012 for domestic battery, criminal damage to property, and contempt of court.
Powell faces one count of criminal trespass, and one count of obstructing the legal process in addition to the charges from the warrant.
He remains in the Atchison County Jail.
