(KAIR)--An alleged case of battery over the weekend has lead to more legal trouble for an Atchison man.
According to Atchison Police Chief Mike Wilson, police were called to a residence in the 600 block of Spring Garden shortly after 6:30 Sunday night for a report of a disturbance.
Upon investigation, a 20-year-old male in the home reported that 47-year-old Dennis Thummel had allegedly grabbed him by the neck and threw him against the wall after arguing with him for a short time.
The victim is an acquaintance of the Thummel family.
Thummel was arrested and taken to police headquarters before being issued a notice to appear in court.
Thummel and his wife, 42-year-old Nancy Thummel were arrested last month and accused of allegedly taking financial advantage of dependent adult. The victim in that case, whose name is not being made public, is a 24-year-old relative of the Thummels.
Their next court appearance in that case is set for May 9th.
