(KLZA) -- Goldberg Group Architect representatives met with Richardson County Commissioners Tuesday to further discuss the proposed jail project.
Larry Goldberg brought up the issue of a contractual matter asking if it needed to be discussed before moving on. No issues were noted.
The Goldberg representatives presented preliminary draft plans utilizing the existing Armory Building and a second option that would add a new addition to the existing facility.
The Goldberg group recommended Option B would be the best plan for Richardson County and this project. They then informed Commissioners they needed a decision from them as to what option they approved of to proceed with the design. The Board informed them they would not make a decision until it was reviewed by Nebraska Jail Standards and the State Fire Marshall.
Goldberg requested the Board authorize them to move forward with Option B. The Board agreed Option B would be the best, they are delaying authorization until it is reviewed further.
Goldberg suggested they would move forward in contacting Jail Standards to review Option B for their recommendations, and provide the information that needs to be completed which is contained in Phase I of the Feasibility Study in the near future.
