(KAIR)--Officials in Atchison County have issued a burn ban for the entire county, effective immediately.
The ban comes in response to a Red Flag Warning issued by the National Weather Service. A Red Flag Warning is issued when an area's current humidity, combined with high temperatures and high winds could lead to a fire going out of control.
Officials are asking residents to please refrain from burning of any kind.
The ban will be in effect until further notice.
