(KMZA)--A Iowa man has been hired as the new Marysville Junior-Senior High School principal.
During a special meeting this week, the USD 364 Board of Education voted unanimously to offer the position to Rusty Shockley.
Shockley has served as principal at Central Lee High School in Donnellson, Iowa since 2008. Prior to that, he spent 20 years as a high school agricultural teacher and FFA advisor in two other Iowa school districts.
Shockley will succeed current Marysville High School Principal Sheri Harmer and Junior High Principal Cindy Scarbrough, who are leaving their positions at the end of the school year. The board planned to combine the two principal positions and is expected to hire a vice principal later this spring.
The board will set Shockley’s salary during their April 9th meeting.
