(KLZA) -- More than 200 pianists from across the region will convene on the campus of Peru State College Saturday, April 5 to perform in the 25th Annual Piano Extravaganza.
The event, which begins in the morning with rehearsals throughout the day, culminates with a “piano orchestra” concert at 7 p.m. in the College Theatre. The final concert and grand finale will include up to 30 pianists performing duets together on 15 pianos on one stage under the direction of Professor of Music and Director of Choral Activities Dr. Thomas Ediger. Eight different groups will perform in the final concert.
Every year pianists age seven to 70 capitalize on the opportunity to share their talent and passion for the art form. We look forward to another wonderful day with great participation and hope the public will join us for this historic occasion.”
The Piano Extravaganza rehearsals and concert are open to the public. Admission to the evening concert is $7 for adults and $2 for students. Tickets are available at the door, which opens at 6:05 p.m. There is no admission charge to attend rehearsals, which begin at 10:30 a.m.
For more information, contact Ediger at 402-872-2253 or tediger@peru.edu.
