Ozawkie Man Arrested in Pharmacy Burglary
(KAIR)--An Ozawkie man has been taken into custody after allegedly breaking into a Meriden pharmacy.
According to Jefferson County Sheriff Jeff Herrig, 31-year-old Larry Jasa, Jr. at first tried to break into a Valley Falls pharmacy during the early morning hours of March 5th. When he failed to get in, he contacted the sheriff's department later that same day in an attempt to distract them, before allegedly breaking into the Meriden pharmacy and taking several items from the store. However, in the process, he set off the store alarm, and deputies met him outside of the premises, though no arrest was made at that time.
Officials were able to view video surveillance from the Meriden pharmacy and recognized Jasa as the person they saw that night outside of the pharmacy. A search warrant was executed for Jasa's residence, located in the 9-thousand block of Sharon Lane in Ozawkie on March 11th, where several items were seized as evidence.
Jasa is facing one count each of attempted burglary, burglary, theft, and criminal damage to property. He remains in the Jefferson County Detention Center.
