(KLZA) -- A Salem, Nebraska man was injured in a single-vehicle crash Monday evening, west of Falls City on Highway 8.
According to the Richardson County Sheriff's Department, 25-year-old Jeremy Patnode was the lone occupant of a westbound pickup that went out of control, off the south side of the highway, struck a tree and then became wedged between two trees in a ravine. The location of the crash is just east of the Falls City Country Club.
Deputy Sheriff Jeff Frederick said Patnode was able to get himself out of the pickup and climb up to the highway and flag down help.
Patnode suffered what were described as serious injuries to his legs and face. He was transported to Community Medical Center in Falls City.
The cause of the wreck is under investigation. Alcohol is not suspected to have been a factor in the crash.
