Pawnee City Receives Clean Audit Report

City Hall - Pawnee City

(KTNC) -- The Pawnee City Council received the Audit report for fiscal year 2012-2013 this week. City Auditor Julie Bauman presented the report.
City Clerk Tammy Stephens says it was a clean audit, with the city receiving an unmodified opinion for all of its various funds and components – the General Fund, Utilities, PCDC, Airport Authority, and Cemetery Association.
Stephens says the city is working to build its cash reserves and they hope to set up a reserve account for the General Fund as they anticipate future expenses and equipment needs. Stephens says they would like to set aside $1200 to $1300 a month.
In addition to the city audit, the council also received the PCDC Audit report Monday. Suzanne Borcher with the Citizen Advisory Board presented the report. The PCDC has been involved mainly with housing and the assisted living facility over the last six months.
The Pawnee City Council approved the one-and-six year street plan following a public hearing.
The council heard an update on the Housing Rehab Project. Stephens says they are reviewing nine completed applications. Once it’s determined who meets the eligibility standards, three will be selected for house inspections and then sent out for contractor bids.
Pawnee City has received a grant to rehab 10 homes this year.
And Pawnee City will interview applicants for the Swimming Pool Manager position next week. Five people have applied for the position. Applications will be accepted through Friday.
