(KAIR)--The USD 377 School Board has moved forward in their process to select a new elementary school principal.
Superintendent Steve Wiseman says there are multiple steps that need to be taken to narrow down the field of candidates. The board will first take the group of applicants and screen that down to about five or seven for an initial round of interviews. Then, from that group, two to three of the best candidates will be selected for a second round of interviews. From there, a recommendation will be made to the board.
Wiseman says he hopes the process will be completed by the April school board meeting.
Former elementary school principal Lisa Brookover submitted her resignation last December. High School Social Studies teacher Cy Wallisch has taken over the position on a temporary basis until a new principal is hired.
