(KNZA)--No injuries reported following an early Monday afternoon Hiawatha structure fire.
Fire Chief Bill Roland says it happened in one apartment of a duplex, located at One Quivira Court, where the fire broke out around 2:00.
A female occupant heard a thumping sound, realized there was fire, called 911 and managed to escape to safety.
Hiawatha Fire was joined at the scene by Robinson firefighters as well as the Brown County Rescue Squad and Hiawatha Police.
Roland says damage was contained to the apartment's kitchen, the kitchen ceiling and the southside outside wall.
Although an exact cause is not yet determined, Roland says it's likely an electrical issue played a role in the start of the fire.
