(KMZA)--The 2014 Nemaha County Spelling Bee was held Saturday at the Nemaha County Courthouse in Seneca.
Taking 1st place was Helen Krehbiel, an 8th grader from the F.A.S.T. Home School Group.
The 2nd place winner was Angela Holthaus, an 8th grader at the B & B. Jr/Sr. High School.
Capturing 3rd place was Aiden Schmelzle, an 8th grader at the Sts. Peter and Paul School in Seneca.
The 1st and 2nd place winners will now advance to the Topeka Capital Regional Spelling Bee to be held in Topeka on March 8th.
Six schools participated in the spelling bee, which was sponsored by the Alpha Kappa Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma Society International.
