(KNZA)--The Hiawatha School Board has approved a floor plan for the new concession-restroom facility to be constructed at the high school football stadium.
Jerry Stallbaumer with Bern-based AHRS Construction presented the plan recommended by the concession stand committee to the board Monday evening.
Stallbaumer also presented a construction budget of nearly $210,000 for the about 50 by 37 foot facility. He noted that many of the figures could see adjustments as contractors in the community have said they would be willing to donate toward the project
The board said they would not let bids for construction of the facility until all the funds needed have been collected by the USD 415 Education Foundation, which is spearheading fund raising efforts.
At last report, about $180,000 of the projected $200,000 needed has been raised.
