(KAIR)--A truck allegedly stolen from a St. Joseph residence turns up in Atchison early Monday morning after Atchison police respond to an alleged theft of a flat screen television from Walmart. Atchison Police Chief Mike Wilson says the incident took place just after 1:00,with the suspects fleeing the scene in a pickup truck. However, they were spotted going northbound on Fifth Street. The officer, who was going in the opposite direction, turned around to attempt to stop the vehicle, but before he could, it hit a parked car.
Wilson further states that the two suspects fled the scene on foot, but were soon apprehended after a short chase. 30-year old Christopher Patterson of Kansas City, MO and 22-year old Montana Price of Atchison were taken into custody. Price complained of medical issues, and was transported by EMS to Atchison hospital. She was examined and released into police custody.
The stolen pickup truck has been identified as a 1996 Dodge Ram that was taken from a residence located at the 3100 block of north 10th Street in St Joseph just after 12:30 Sunday afternoon.
Patterson is facing charges of possession of stolen property, obstructing the legal process, and various traffic related charges. Price is facing charges of theft, possession of stolen property, and obstructing the legal process.
