(KLZA) The latest unemployment report for the state of Nebraska indicates a continued downward trend in unemployment statewide and in Southeast Nebraska.
In Nemaha County, Nebraska the December unemployment rate was down 3-tenths to 4.5 percent. Only four of the states 93 counties have a higher unemployment rate. Richardson County ranks sixth on the list with a jobless rate of 4.3 percent which is down a tenth of a point from October.
Pawnee County continues to have the lowest unemployment rate in Southeast Nebraska at 2.7 percent. Other area county unemployment rates for December are Johnson County, 3 percent; Gage County 3.7 and Otoe 3.6 percent. All the unemployment rates were slightly lower than in October.
